Discount Builders Merchants are a growing family-owned Builders’ Merchants with over 20+ year experience in supplying both the building trade and DIY enthusiasts. We currently operate depots in the West Midlands and Kent, with a forward-thinking culture to expand within the industry. In Early May this year, we continue to expand opening a new site in Banbury in July 2019.

The company is looking for Counter Sales Assistants to join the sales team.

Key responsibilities-

  • Assisting in processing sales and serve customers
  • Using the Sales system to ensure the correct building products are processed on the system.
  • Advise customers of products and a general understanding of building products
  • Liaise with customers both over the phone and in person, taking orders, resolving issues and offering product advice.
  • Must have some basic computer knowledge
  • Restock products, maintain stock levels and carry out stock checks for audits
  • Booking customer deliveries
  • Liaise with Yard Staff on a daily basis.
  • Flexibility to work shifts
  • Ambition to work for one of the leading Builders Merchants in order to strive for success.

People Skills

  • Answering phone calls and advising customers including any queries with regarding deliveries and sales advice.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Offer a first-class service to customers via telephone and in store
  • Work Monday to Friday - 7.30am - 5.30pm and every other Saturday and occasional Sundays on a rota basis.
  • Previous experience working within the building industry would be advantageous

Gill Civil Engineering is one of the leading airfield/ports/highway concrete paving companies in the United Kingdom and has been successful in a bid to conduct civil engineering works at Tilbury Docks starting Early June 2019, with the project due to last a minimum of six months.

We specialise in the slipform technique of paving as well as hand lay concrete services. The company is now looking to recruit two HGV Spinner Lorry Drivers.

Requirements:

  • Full Clean Driving License with no more than 6 points and no convictions under DD, ID or DR categories.
  • CSCS/CPCS card
  • Medical Certificate - (the company will arrange this)
  • Experience driving and operating a Concrete Spin Mixer Vehicle.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with all other personnel.
  • To adhere to company health and Safety regulations.

Flexibility is important as the contract for this project dictates that the works can be over some weekends occasionally.

Titan Plant Hire is one of the Gill Group of Companies and supports our civil engineering company who are one of the leading airfield/ports/highway concrete paving companies in the United Kingdom and have been successful in a bid to conduct civil engineering works at Airports, Highways and Docks throughout the country.

We are looking for a Heavy/Large Plant Fitter which will involve the repair and service of a fleet of large Plant and Construction equipment.

Ideally, you will be time served in both mechanical and electrical maintenance with equipment such as Diggers, 360 Excavators, Bell 25 tonne Dumpers, Cherry Pickers, Batching Plant equipment.

The right candidate will have the following skills:

  • A think on your feet attitude with the ability to use own initiative.
  • Being able to communicate effectively and liaising with site staff/managers

Salary will be negotiable on experience, an excellent salary is available along with company benefits of company pension and holidays along with the use of a company vehicle.

• To provide prompt and accurate reporting to the Director as required.

• Be highly motivated and willing to focus and commit to the company.
• Being proactive in the promotion of the full product range of concrete mixes available
• Communicating effectively with credit control, ensuring credit limits for customers are at a sufficient level to meet their needs while minimising the risk to the company
